Hands of Love:Not Lame, 5-27-05 "Scarlet Crush provide a rich, highly textured, full amplified guitar sound that is a balm to the pop senses, all tempered by vivid, rich harmonic landscapes and big, anthmemic chords and, those vocals, unashamedly soaring. Crystal clear production, crackling passion, unrelenting, rewarding and breathtaking choruses(they don`t let up!) - it`s the full pop package."
Rich Kane, OC Weekly 6-4-04 "...wads of potential hits here..."

"It kinda makes all those bands like Vertical Horizon and Matchbox 20 sound like a big old bucket of horrible puke!" "Sounds impeccable, tons of harmonies"

Scarlet Crush - Worth Waiting For
After one listen to Worth Waiting For, the debut release from Orange County, Calif. pop quintet Scarlet Crush, a question immediately leaps to mind: "This is their first album?" The performances, songwriting, arrangements and vocals on this disc are so polished, so smooth and so letter-perfect that they belie the fact that this is a freshman release - and from an indie label act, yet!
Often sounding like a wonderful alliance between the Rembrandts and Crowded House (with some added muscle), Scarlet Crush is all about the songs, which they have in spades. From the pop rush of "Mother Theresa" to the swaggering rock of "Something To Say" and from the gentle "I'll Fall For You" to the slightly Caribbean-sounding "The Truth About You," there is nary a false step to be found on Worth Waiting For.
Other high-water marks here include the updated Beatles moves of "My Favorite Record Shop," the shimmering "She's The One" (which provides a showcase for the band's pristine harmony vocals) and the absolutely gorgeous - albeit brief - ballad "Little Wings." There is also a palpable air of spirituality in many of the album's lyrics, but rather than beat the listener over the head with their beliefs, Scarlet Crush instead opt for subtlety, preferring to let the listeners decide how they want to interpret things.
Impeccably produced by fellow Orange County resident/pop artist Walter Clevenger, Scarlet Crush's Worth Waiting For is a most impressive debut and one that should appeal to connoisseurs of slick (that's a good thing), radio-ready pop 'n' roll.

Scarlet Crush - Worth Waiting For
Word: One of the better new bands on the pop scene! Produced by Walter Clevenger, Scarlet Crush has many a great sound of classic power pop that is one of the most 'across-the-board' appeal and make up. 12 songs, all outstanding and exquisitely recorded, filled to the utter max with gooey, sweet and pure vocals layered and layered, with spot-on guitars that reach heavenward and open up any cloudy sky. Fans of early Posies and classic Rembrandts material, will notice a strong resemblane of the blendings of Stringfellow/Auer on many tracks, as well. Slice after slice of glossy and thrilling and imaginatively played power pop. Scarlet Crush: Come to the Front Of The Class of 2001! Extremely Highly Recommended.ARTIST: SCARLET CRUSH SONG: SHE'S THE ONE GENRE: POP / AAA / HOT ADULT CONTEMPORARY SIMILAR: GOO GOO DOLLS / REMBRANDTS / SISTER HAZEL ------------------------------------ Note: The standard of comparison for reviews is, according to editorial policy, "the best that’s ever been done." The reviewer (Chris K.) is a veteran radio programmer. Please read his bio for more information." The Review: I had to actually wait several days in order to review this band and it’s music. Drawing definitively from the Goo Goo Dolls, and Rembrandts, and Sister Hazel, the tone imparted on this song is refreshing, reflective, tight, light, and airy contemporary acoustic pop. There’s not a single reason why this song cannot be added, right now to any Hot AC or AAA station in America. It really is that good. She’s the One is not supposed to be a deep thinking song. This is pop rock, meant to talk about boy girl things and impart a good feeling. It succeeds on all levels. It’s performance is noticeably flawless, the production pristine, the content what it’s supposed to be. Hey, sometimes you just need to have some good time summer music in the player, ya know what I mean? Will the boys ever rock the world of those who think that lyrics have to be something other than the misogynist young white boy angst so prevalent today? Nope … However, if your taste in music is more directly related to the Beach Boys "Fun Fun Fun til her daddy took her t-bird away" lineage, then here’s a band and a song that fits in real well.
