That Isn’t Love
J. Smetana/ D. Maddocks
All those things I wished you’d say, hold it in and hide away
Buried deep within your heart, let it out don’t fall apart
If you can take the time to realize that love is waiting
For the day when you will answer all the questions I am askingNo more time for second chances when you’re changing your mind
Everything gets turned around and then one day you will find
That isn’t love...Look inside and you will see, you’ve always been a part of me
Fall apart when you’re not there, see your face now
Everywhere I go I feel you near me, angel heart you always hear me
I am only lost without you, and my life is all about youNo more time for second chances when you’re changing your mind
Everything gets turned around and then one day you will find
That isn’t love...Free me from myself, don’t leave me on a shelf
Please*That Isn’t Love- "This one came out quite naturally in rehearsal one night. Dax played the verse melody off-handed and I just sang out the vocal melody like it had always been there. Another one of those "fell-out-of-the-sky" songs. Great production and stellar drums by John Glover. Quite a good vocal performance also. I like the backwards guitar and swells. Brett does nice slide work on the bass parts. The theme here is a conversation between two people who both want the same thing but disagree on how to get it. One wants honesty, the other wants total devotion…they each accuse each other of not knowing what love is. But the problem is selfishness..."free me from myself..." We can’t love until we recognize that selfishness is the main problem in a relationship. I don’t know, like I said it’s just a song..."- Jeff
