Something To Say
D. Maddocks/ J. SmetanaShout if you like it, shout if it makes you feel ok
Shout if you need it, yeah you need it every single day
It’s no revolution, but it’s no Sunday morning prayer
It is the solution to all of life’s little cares(What do you say) I Speak my mind
(What do you know) I Take my time
Where do you go...
How does it feel? There’s peace in my soul today
What is it like? It’s takin’ my fears away
And if you could belong...
I think I got something to sayShout if you like it, shout if it makes you feel ok
Shout if you need it, yeah you need it every single day
I know that you want it, you can feel it coming down
You know you can have it, and turn your life around(What do you say) I Speak my mind
(What do you know) I Take my time
Where do you go...
How does it feel? There’s peace in my soul today
What is it like? It’s takin’ my fears away
And if you could belong...
I think I got something to sayShout if you know it, is it something you can see
You want to be closer, then just get close to me
How does it feel? There’s peace in my soul today
What is it like? It’s takin’ my fears away
And if you could belong...
I think I got something to say*Something to Say- "or as some of you call it "that shout song". All of us had been talking that we wanted a guitar heavy song with some crunch. So there I am one day feeling miserable with the flu. I pick up my acoustic and start playing around with a few chord progressions I had been working on, and then all at once I had the right chords and melody in a matter of about an hour. Jeff put the finishing touches on the song and "ta-da"! So, you ask what "it" is. Well if you don’t already know, feel free to come ask me. Basically, it’s about a spiritual experience."-Dax
"Believe it or not I was underwhelmed at first on this one. At that time I was feeling more complicated as far as song structures go, so I wanted to be more "artsy". The guys are always on me to embrace more simplicity. It didn’t take long for the catchy hook to sink in, though. What can I say, this one just shines. A great example of Dax and I meeting in the middle to make a good song happen."- Jeff
