Secret’s Safe With Me
D. Maddocks/ J.Smetana

Take a little drive, watch the road unwind
Sentimental ride where you can speak your mind
Tell it like it is, confession is a gift
Wrapped in confidence and understanding

What would you, why should you, don’t be afraid
Love makes you, time breaks you
We all make mistakes

What have we become, the tips of lonely tongues
Songs we’ve never sung, your secret’s safe with me
Stuck inside your skin, the silence is a sin
Where do we begin to let the sun shine

What would you, why should you, don’t be afraid
Love makes you, time breaks you
We all make mistakes

Cause I’m waiting, I been watching you
And you know it’s gonna be alright
I’m not saying, I’m feeling sorry for you
But I know that it’s all I can do...

Take a little time, seek and you will find
You know I never mind, your secret’s safe with me
Stuck inside your skin, the silence is a sin
Now we can begin to let the sun shine

What would you, why should you, don’t be afraid
Love makes you, time breaks you
We all make mistakes

*Secrets Safe with Me- "This song started out with the music, as it usually does when I write. We were in rehearsal and I had the main progression for the verse and then Jeff wrote a nice chorus part. Most of my songs come from either something I’m going thru or someone else is going thru, or just my imagination. The lyrics are really about the need to have someone in your life that you can talk to about problems or very personal stuff. Too many people just don’t have an outlet so they internalize all their frustrations and then one day it all just comes bursting out. We need to be able to trust someone with our secrets, whether it’s God or a good friend. There’s no need to be afraid of who we are inside. True friends will listen and support you even when they may not be able to understand what’s going on."- Dax

"Tasty solo by Jeffy..."- Jeff
